Hi Rodger,
There are a number of companies that offer aftermarket tank level sensors for the RV and Marine markets. For non-metallic tanks like the holding and water tanks on the C320, a relatively easy and accurate sensor technology uses capacitance to measure fluid levels. As noted on the manufacturers website, “ Due to its non-invasive nature, the MODA sensor module is simple to install. It is installed by applying 2 vertical strips of aluminum tape to the side of the tank, then sticking the MODA copper patches over them. Installation is completed by sticking the module itself to the tank then extending its wires to the display.” I installed the ISeries tank system monitor kit (which comes with 3 sensors) from Tank Edge this year and so far it seems to be working quite well. At the tank side you need to install the sensor as described above and you of course need to run a cable back from the tank to the system panel generally placed near the nav station. You also need to run a power lead to the panel. I found it pretty easy to install and use. Here is their site for your reference.
