[C320-list] Engine Temperature Gauge Failure

I don't know about earlier hulls but mine (366) also appeared to have no sounders. However when you remove the instrument panel you see there is a sounder ‘glued’ to the back of the panel. Over the years I have replaced three of these (on two different hulls) as they seem highly susceptible to damp - or maybe vibration?

Wiring is simple. they are wired in parallel with the warning light. When the light comes on the buzzer sounds.

I think (nowhere near boat at the moment) that originally a single buzzer was used but there is no reason you couldn't use two different ones, one for over temp alarm and another for the low oil pressure alarm.

Proper replacements “for marine use” can be pricey but a normal 12v piezo buzzer s cheap as chips from any electronics supplier and work fine

I have one lamp for charge (or specifically it lights up when/if the alternator is not charging, or if the idle is too low). There is another lamp that I assume is for both low oil pressure and high temperature. Is this the setup for you other older hull numbers?

However, the clue that there was a problem was a screeching as the fan belt still turned around the seized up flywheel for the water pump and we smelled burning rubber. I honestly don't remember if the engine panel control temperature light was on since I turned off the engine very quickly. Also, the engine panel location and lights visibility stinks where it is located.
