[C320-list] Dehumidifier, Warm Air Circulator Fan,

I live in Atlanta, GA, where there is an abundance of humidity, especially
in summer. The other environmental challenge that promotes mildew is that
during much of the year there's a pretty good gap between low and high
temps, and the low night/morning temps along with the humidity create
condensation in the boat. Our solution, which has been effective for 20+
years, is a combination of a solar powered vent that operates 24/7 (blows
air out of the cabin) and a small room heater that kicks in at a pre-set
temp. I use this 12 months a year. This combo has provided zero mildew.
Having said that -- we do sail all year long, so our challenges are
different from those of you who have to haul and store for winter.

I have thought about dehumidifiers in the past but resisted because I could
never find an easy solution to draining the water created by the process.
If this Caframo unit solves that problem -- GREAT!

Subject: [C320-list] Dehumidifier, Warm Air Circulator Fan,

I was wondering if anyone within the Organization has used and can recommend
the Caframo Store Dry Dehumidifier or some other similar device? This unit
has a Warm Air Circulator Fan and supposedly effective in limiting mildew,
mold and excessive moisture inside the boat cabin while it is laid up for
the winter.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcome.
