[C320-list] Engine panel questions

Two questions:

First, the audible alarm on my engine panel only works intermittently. 
When it works it is very loud, but it often does not sound when starting 
or stopping the engine when there is no oil pressure. The oil pressure 
light works fine so I know the sensor itself is fine. At one time in the 
past my audible alarm stopped working altogether and based on a 
recommendation on this list I found a replacement part. However I'm 
having trouble finding that info again, and am wondering whether 
something else might be to blame given the repeated problems. BTW, my 
recollection is that the original alarm was specified as a 24 volt part, 
while the replacement I put in was an almost identical unit rated for 12 
volts.

Second, my tachometer is erratic sometimes. I have the Yanmar 3GM30F 
with magnetic pickup on the flywheel. Does anyone have suggestions for 
tracing the contacts, or identifying the most likely bad connection?
