Thanks all on the no power to gauges thread....turned out to be a back spade connection on the circuit breaker...luckily it only took 10 mins to find it!!

The ignition switch powers the gauges...sounds like a loose or corroded
connection in the pod.

Hi,

I had a similar problem recently and couldn?t turn the engine off either.

In my case the earth cable to the engine block had come out of the crimp connector meaning the engine was no longer earthed. You could check that too. The earth is the big black cable that on my 3YM30 engine attached to the right side of the engine as you look at it from front of the engine.

Cheers, Ian.

If the engine started but the gauges are out then the circuit breaker on
the engine panel popped or you have a corroded wire between the switch and
the breaker (the thing under the plastic boot.. The 30A fuse in the engine
wiring harness cuts  ALL power to the switch.  FWIW the starter solenoid,
lights, "buzzer" and alternator exciter wire are all hot wired to the
switch the breaker is only protecting the gauges.

Has anyone ever used the new ceramic wax on their boats and what was the results?  Were you satisfied with the protection through the season
Thanks

Curious as well. The new SiO2 coatings for cars are designed to temporarily
bond with the clearcoat.  Very curious to know how well it will work with
gelcoat or if there is a different marine formula that actually is proven
to have similar longevity.  On the Chesapeake a true 4-6 month sealant that
does not bond with the tannins that create the Chesapeake smile would be
amazing.  The car ceramics have been around long enough to feel good
about.

Hopefully someone with experience will respond.
