[C320-list] Dodger

In many ways and for many applications, a cookie cutter approach could easily work unless there are additional and specific things you want to achieve with a dodger/bimini. Do you want to look under the dodger or over the dodger when standing at the helm. How tall are you? Do you want to be able to stand under the Bimini? Do you want safety hand-bars and where do you want them? Do you want racks for solar? Pockets for flashlights? What quality of stainless do you want? What diameter tubing? Do you want it for basic sun protection or as something you could grab when you need something solid to grasp hold of? Those are all personal choices depending on application. Jason Iverson spent hours on our boat with us measuring and getting all the specifics - I don’t know of any local canvas guy who would do that although I’m sure there are some (they seem to be very busy as well.) Because we chose larger diameter tubing and the ability to fully enclose our cockpit with either screens or windows, I believe it cost us about $13-14K - expensive except that it seriously added another room to the boat. It’s really nice to have the windows on, have it raining outside and sit in a dry cockpit with our Espar diesel heater keeping us nice and comfortable at anchor. I’m sure for many boaters a cookie cutter approach would be an absolutely fine way to go. We personally wanted something more.

>> Have to agree with Ron on this one. I have an Iverson as well. When talking about a local canvas maker vs. them, it?s like a night and day difference. The dodger itself enhances what you can see when you look forward from the helm. Superior design. Very high quality. People wait 6 months for them to come to your boat and start the process?? The local guys can?t even come close.
