After four years serving as the Commodore of the Catalina 320 International Association, an appropriate tenure for any chief executive of a notable organization, I have decided to give up my privileged position. In part this decision is motivated by my wish to see other members given the opportunity to lead the Association. It may be that incumbancy impedes others from seeking to serve. In any event, when this year ends, so will my term as Commodore. I am announcing my retirement now so that other members may have time to consider who would best serve as the next Commodore. According to the Bylaws of the Association, new officers should be chosen at the annual board meeting in November (as you may have noticed, we have usually gone past November into the new year in conducting the board meeting and election).
