Thank you Jeff for all that you have done for this association. Your advice has always been my gold standard. Although you were not personally on my boat, you were right beside me on many projects. Best of luck with your C355, an awesome boat.

Hello all,

After 20 years of sailing our 2001 C320 Woodbine II #809, Michelle and I
have found a new local home for her among close friends and will be sending
her on to new adventures later this week. We now own an extremely
well-cared for 2011 C355. We are honored and thank Jon Vez and Doreen
MacDonald for giving us the opportunity to buy it.

We've been members of the Catalina 320 International Association since 2001,
traveled (and even sailed) to the annual rendezvous' where we got to meet
and make some lifelong friends that we'd previously talked with on the
C320-list.

I'll be resigning from the board of directors after 18 years of managing the
website, discussion list and archives when my current term is up. When the
dust from the boat exchange settles, I'll be helping Bill Culbertson and
David Prudden make the transition of the remaining 320 association services
off of my servers and over to our new association management system. I'd
encourage anyone with any level of web content or technical writing skills
to contact the board about how you might be able to assist. It doesn't have
to be an 18 year commitment! :)

This association used to have annual meeting/regatta/meetups. These were
always great fun and to be able to sail, cruise and race on other C320's
with other C320 owners in different areas of the country was really treat.
Great events were held in Chicago, Coronado, Annapolis, Baltimore, Newport,
Marina Del Rey to name a few.

While we were never able to get an Australian regatta together, that would
have been a bucket list event. The Dock parties, with "open house/cocktail"
night where local C320 owners who sailed into the event would show off their
upgrades, tricks, etc. made it worth the trip. We got personal tours from
Gerry Douglas of the Catalina factory and both he and the late Frank Butler
would regularly attend and speak at our events, as would Yanmar, Lewmar,
Garhauer, and various rig tuning experts.

I'd encourage the association to try to revive this tradition in the future
as it added a dimension to the association that is priceless.

My sincere thanks to everyone who has served in any capacity on the board of
directors over the past 20 years and to those all over the world who have
supported the Catalina 320 International Association by renewing their
memberships every year. That is what makes all this possible.

Fair winds!

-Jeff & Michelle Hare
