[C320-list] Another Autopilot question

Pat

The Edson tiller arm is not the only option. There are other commercial options, but I made my own, just getting a welder to weld the arm to the collar that goes around the rudder post.

Scott

I’m not sure you need a new ACU do you? Pretty sure the one I had was for both wheel or linear drive, and you tell it which during the set up process. Maybe someone else can advise?

For what its worth, because of the cramped space I had the yard install the ram and drill a hole in the rudder post for the bolt that locates the tiller arm onto it to prevent it slipping

The rest of the install I did myself, following Jeff’s plan. Wiring up STNG (NMEA2000) is a cinch. If you need your a/p to read old NMEA0183 instruments then I can recommend the Actisense NGW1 converter, and, if needed they do a multiplexer so you can input several sets of NMEA0183 daat simultaneously - eg GPS info, depth info, log info, w.v info.

Hope that helps
