[C320-list] Perkins m30 fuel filter

I also have seen the NAPA 3386 filter listed for the on-engine fuel filter
for my M30.

But if the vacuum gauge shows a high vacuum at the Racor filter, it means
that flow is restricted upstream of the lift pump, preventing fuel from
flowing into the pump as fast as the pump is trying to pump it out. The
on-engine secondary filter is downstream of the lift pump, and changing it
won't alleviate that problem. I'd look for an obstruction at the fuel tap
in the tank, or in the fuel lines between the tank and the lift pump. My
No. 232 has a shut-off valve just upstream of the Racor filter, but I have
heard of some boats having a shut-off valve at the tank. If the valve is
partly closed, or if gunk is clogging the end of the fuel tap, it could
cause a high vacuum reading.

I use Fram 3627 or NAPA 3386 as the secondary fuel filter on my Perkins M30.

Jeff-
I am not home to check my files, but searched the 320 Assoc stuff and Warren
Updike (#62) listed these a good while ago for the M30 engine fuel
filter:Perkins 130366120NAPA 3386FRAM 3627 Dave Hupe1994 C320 #32

I am at the boat and the vacuum on my RACOR is solidly in the red and
climbing. I just put a new RACOR filter on but it did not help. My next step
is the on-engine filter, but I don't have a Perkins replacement. Can anyone
tell me some of the equivalent replacement filters that I can get at a local
auto parts house?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff
