[C320-list] Table support

Hi
Can anybody tell me how the kitchen table support goes together. Specifically the screw and the two pieces of metal that act to hold the table in place. I backing off the screw and I heard the two pieces of metal fall into the support. Took it apart and can’t figure out hold to get the parts to stay in place. Is it just friction that holds them in place
