[C320-list] C320-list Digest, Vol 4407, Issue 1

When I purchased the boat, it had the original waste hoses.
Vague sharp odor.
I purchased Peggie Halls book and added Raritan KO & CP as per her recommendation.
No change.
As per the book applied wet towel on the hose, allowed to dry & smell test for odor from hose permeation.
Following Dave Hupe's report on replacing his waste hoses, I replaced mine, not very difficult.
The new hoses ended the vague sharp odor.
Also after pump out & flush of the holding tank, I open the access cover, don gloves & hand clean the tank.
Followed by Clorox & water. let it soak, pump out.
I add Thetford Aqua Max tablets to the tank when in use.
No odors.

The base for original toilet cracked and I recently replaced the whole toilet assembly with new.
New assembly fit exactly as the old, thankfully easy job.

When I purchased PLYMOUTH (621) the hoses had been replace. After the first year I began to get "stink'. It seemed worse right after I pumped out. In checking I found that the bolts holding the macerator pump together had corroded badly and was causing a leak into the bilge. Since I don't tale the boat into the open ocean, I decided to eliminate the macerator pump and plumb the holding tank directly to the deck fitting. I sealed the through hull and in addition to eliminating the "stink" I picked up some storage space. (and saved a couple of hundred dollar for a new pump)

I had a similar problem and tried Campa-Chem that I purchased from Walmart.
It's called a holding tank deodorant. I no longer have any odor Six pack is not expensive and lasts a long time. I simply put a few ounces periodically in the toilet bowl and flush into the holding tank and that is adequate
