[C320-list] Nonskid gel coat

In 2021, I ordered year-specific gelcoat in pint-size containers from the Catalina factory in Florida...out of the can color match is not perfect with 23 years of sun bleaching the grey non-skid, but still pretty close; the hull color is a perfect match.

Subject: RE: gelcoat repairBill,I can help you with the Gelcoat order. I assume 1 pint of each will suffice @$45 each.  Please send me a ship to address and phone number and confirm you would like to proceed with order. As for the other info, I would email Warren for those particulars.  Warren at catalinayachts.com  Lukas SerafinCatalina Yachts – Parts Manager7200 Bryan Dairy RoadLargo, Florida 33777727-544-6681 x201Lukas at catalinayachts.com

Thanks everyone.  I guess I'll try the tint method.  To bad there isn't a magic bullet out there!

Michael-
I mixed black tint gradually until a close grey match with white gel coat https://www.westmarine.com/evercoat-non-laminating-finish-gel-coat-P012953865.html and got a close (but not perfect) match.  I didn’t  add the hardener until I was satisfied with the color match.

I have a 2004 C-320 with the deck nonskid in light grey.  I’ve had good luck matching the white hull gel coat with the Patch Paste offered through Catalina direct but they don’t have a grey for the nonskid. I believe Spectrum color would do a match for me but if I recall correctly their minimum was like a $200 order.  Has anyone with a similar vintage boat found a color match source for doing repairs on the nonskid or come up with a recipe using color tints?

Thanks for the help,

Michael Leschisin
