[C320-list] Has anyone tried switching out windlass capstan to one with a gypsy? What did you learn?

A search turned up a rather complete discussion the C34 site, which uses
the same windlass.  In brief summary;
The Maxwell kit was discontinued long ago
The rope-only windlass can handle chain if the chrome is removed
Running chain on the chrome will chip away the chrome producing chards
which may be sharp
