[C320-list] Holding tank replacement

Hi Greg:

I bought a poly tank from Defender years ago for another sailboat. I was satisfied with it and with the price. And yes, you could see how much diesel was in there.

As I remember, the manufacturer had a wide variety of shapes and sizes, so there should be something that fits.

I also remember that the manufacturer cautioned against strapping it really tight when first installed. Apparently, poly tanks swell a little when they are first filled.

Subject: [C320-list] Holding tank replacement

I have the holding tank out for fibreglass repairs. I could replace the tank if that is what the group thinks is a worthwhile change. I don’t like that I can’t see into it as it is black. Would a new one be clear? Any other reasons to replace it? I couldn’t find much discussion on the members’ website.

Thanks,
