Don’t do that!  The table is supposed to be supported at three points when fully down. The other two are the wooden blocks attached to the fiberglass part of the seats. If you don’t lower the table all the way then the post will take all the weight and any significant off- center loading risks damage to the table top where it attaches to the post.
