[C320-list] Davits

We are considering installing davits for our 9' dingy.  

Has anyone used the Garhauer product.  It is new and is $600.00  I figure my
dink and 4hp engine with fuel does not weigh more than 10-200 lbs. They make
great products so this might be good.

Questions:

1.	Do we need a plate under the stern to hold it, a backing plate?
2.	I want to be able to easily remove it when we don't need it for bay
sailing.
3.	If some one has the Garhauer davit can you email me a picture how it
was installed.
4.	Any other free advice.
