[C320-list] Raw Water Strainer

Mike,

No need to go through all of that. Simply close the seacock, put a plastic drinking cup under the strainer and back it off. The water will be rather smelly so you want to try and capture all of it. I've found that you can drop the strainer into the cup and it will capture all of the water. Be careful when backing it off as it can be a bit hard and you don't want to break the plastic strainer.
When through, just spin it back on and hand tighten--Open the seacock and you should be all set. There is plenty of water left in the system so you don't have to worry about the impeller running dry. The water pump will be full of water and will not drain out from the sea strainer being open...I've also found it helpful to mark the direction to turn it with a permanent marker so that in the event you have to do this quickly while underway you aren't thinking about it...

Regards,

Jon Vez
