I'm going to try it this year. Never did before as the installer/dealer was adamant about not spraying anything on the track or slides. At this point I figure I don't have much to lose.

I also went with the Strong Track system a couple of years ago and the sail is no easier to raise now then it was before. The sail falls a bit faster but you still have to be directly into the wind for a quick fall. The Milwaukee cordless right angle drill should do the job. I read that you can lift a person up the mast (according to weight) with the Milwaukee drill. I have used a Craftsman 19.2 volt to lift the main the past few years with fair success but the batteries go bad fast.

I went with the Strong Track system two years ago, on the advice of my
sailmaker who assured me that for the extra $1k my new sail would fly up the
mast. It's possible that the new sail is that much heavier than the stock
Catalina, or I have become that much weaker as the years have rolled on, but
I have a hard time with the last 2-3 feet of sail hoist. This year if it
ever stops raining and gets above 45F, I'm going to try the Milwaukee
cordless right angle drill to raise the sail and haul in the jib.
