[C320-list] Mast Cleat

That would concern me, as well. We like being able to dump the halyard fast
with one hand by just tripping the rope clutch and we never tie stopper
knots in the sheets and guys. As long as they're twice the length of the
boat, they won't get away as long as you're in control. If you're out of
control, you want them to get away.

I have a Harken 150 aluminum cam cleat on the mast so the mast/foredeck crew
doesn't have to rely on the pit man to tail on the hoist. When things settle
down after the hoist, the pit man takes the slack up in the rope clutch and
the mast/foredeck removes the halyard from the cam cleat on the mast. It
does get interesting when we forget to do that, but it's a lot quicker than
trying to untie the halyard from a horn cleat and the pit man can still
control the halyard on the drop.

I also had the dealer install a Harken 150 inboard from the cabin top winch
for the outhaul. The cam cleat is easily operated with one hand and there's
never enough load on the outhaul to require a rope clutch. The outhaul runs
from the mast, through a bullseye padeye installed just ahead and inboard of
the innermost sheave on the organizer/traveler. I have one on the other side
for the Cunningham and both work great.

That could be interesting if you need to dump the spinnaker in a hurry. Are
you sure you want to do that?
