We just went through this recently. I have flown an A Chute about 25
times, no crane.

Subject: [C320-list] Spinnaker Halyard???

Scott,
Just looked at the Photo 12 of 12 in the album series you noted re the
exhaust system below.

Is that a spinnaker halyard I see behind the jib halyard??

Have you flown any kind of spinnaker from that halyard??

I am having a big argument with my sailing partner as to the need for a
crane to fly a spinnaker. I think that a crane is NOT necessary
especially if flown with a pendent attached to the halyard

Have people on the list been successful in flying a spinnaker without a
crane??

Has anyone noted any particular halyard chafing in doing so?

We just purchased an asymetric and have to convert our spare jib halyard
to a spinnaker halyard.
