[C320-list] Wing keel draft

I really can't give you much objective input on the grounding question. I gather you've read the same comments that I have. I have not put her hard aground while sailing, although Hurricaine Ophelia did and she was not cooperative about coming out of the swamp. Around here we have a mud and sand bottom and she seems to negotiate the mud as well as a fin keel. The one time I touched sand, I did an immediate 360 and had no problem getting out again.

Thanks Chris. I found the pictures. I previously had a C34 with fin, so I am
looking forward to seeing what the wing is like. I gather they can be hard
to get off if you run aground. And I guess there is a greater risk of
fouling lines. There aren't many of them in Sydney. Mine sails beautifully.

P.S., The keels were shortend prior to 2001. I believe it was when the 310
was introduced a sI have read that they share a common keel. There is a
comparison of photos of the two wing keels in the Association photo gallery
with some text info as well.

I recently purchased a c320, wing keel and I am uncertain as to what its
true draft is. The manual supplied with the boat (hull #929, built 2002)
says the draft is 4' 10.5". I know that the draft on the c320 with wing keel
was reduced to 4' 4" at some time but I thought that happened some years
before mine was built. Can anyone clarify this point for me?
