I pried off the covers. The bulbs are ok, so I cleaned the contacts with acetone. Is this the right stuff to use? Still no luck. Guess my next move is to remove the 2 screws and clean the wire contacts. I also noticed some of the lights had o rings and some didn't. Does this make a difference?

Once you pry off the cap, try cleaning the contacts and putting the same bulb back in. I found this works almost every time and have yet to need to replace a bulb. One one occasion, I also had to remove the two screws that hold the unit in place and then clean the wire contacts. I believe you can examine the bulb to look for broken filaments to be sure it is actually a bad bulb.
