Another perspective on this topic ..... Before buying a C320, I owned a 31' French-made racer/cruiser, a Kelt 9 Meter, which was built to conform to the Fastnet race specs. Besides the usual jacklines, it was also set-up to tow a line  behind the boat which was attached to a launchable, self-inflating raft. I never used this system, but assuming you could grab the line, it would serve as a rescue  platform as the boat sailed merrily away.
