Hello All,

Well I guess I will add something to this list.

"Dawn Treader" is FINALLY in SFO Bay and FINALLY in the water!
Thursday and Friday we spent the day rigging the boat, cleaning and
organizing the inside (lots of stuff packed from the move), and I had
the kids wash the topsides, YAY! Friday evening we did our first
motoring around from Pt. Richmond (where the boat is being serviced),
but did not go to far due to the winds and the fog.

Saturday though we had a great sail from Pt. Richmond to Sausalito and
back. It was a WHOLE new experience for us - salt water, sea lions,
getting used to the tidal currents and the view! We had a great
dinner at a place called "The Fish" before the trip back.

Now a some more work needs to be done on the boat. First off the
engine gasket is leaking oil - YIKES! The repair was finished today
though - KKMI has done an excellent job on the boat. Then the former
marina I was at saw fit to DRAIN the binnacle compass and CUT THE
ELECTRICAL CABLE AND RIPPED THE LIGHTS OUT (yes, the cut was 1/2" from
the plug!). This is also being repaired, and yes I will send the old
marina - Anchorage Marina - the bill. Lastly, the Dodger is on its
last mile, so the canvas is being replaced on it. Either way, in
August I will finally get to move the boat to its home port at Pier 39.

BTW - I love the sailing here! Nice and cool, and LOTS of wind! No
endless days of drifting around in the blazing heat.

Happy Sailing!
Andrew
