Hood used to offer a 50% discount on trade in for their new model.  I think they give you 90 days to send in the lower unit. Last I read from Practical Sailor it got good reviews.

YOU CAN FIND THE DRAWINGS AND PARTS HERE. Go to tech tips to figure 
out your model because I don't remember and the receipts are on the boat.

I have the same system and just don't want to spend $2000 on a new 
one, but it is not the best by a long shot.
