[C320-list] Pole Topping Lift

Larry, I use the spinnaker halyard as a topping lift for the pole. I wrap it
twice around the pole and fasten the shackle to the halyard itself. Seems to

Those of you that have installed a dedicated topping lift for their
spinnaker or whisker pole, how high up the mast did you install it and did
you run the lift completely external to the mast or modify the mast to make
it internal.  Other suggestions appreciated.
