[C320-list] Rocna Anchor

Mike,

How does the anchor know the boat is not clocking around with a change in
wind direction causing the shackle to slide to the opposite end and
unseating the anchor from its hold on the bottom? Is the slot for a
secondary line and not the primary anchor line?

I looked at the Rocna but bought a Manson Supreme 25 lb.  Both are similar
designs and Sail magazine rated them both very high.  I have used it all
season and like the Rocna it sets instantly and hold very well.  The one
thing the Manson has that the Rocna doesn't is a rockslot in the shank.
Because this style of anchor buries deep, retrieving it is a concern.
The rockslot let you slide the shackle to the other end of the anchor to
pull from the opposite direction if your snagged.

The Rocna Anchor is being promoted on some of the forums and in some
magazines as being much better than the old standbys...Danforth, Bruce, CRQ
Plow.  However it appears to be expensive.

Have any of you switched to this anchor?  If so, what has been your
experience? Will the anchor fit on the anchor roller bracket and not strike
the hull with the anchor point (on boats having the longer bracket that was
adopted sometime before 2000)?  What size did you use/recommend?  Would this
purchase be money well spent?
