[C320-list] Jabsco Impeller kit

Yesterday when changing the impeller I noticed in the kit an extra black rubber gasket ( like a thin rubber band) along with the regular cover gasket. I didn't see that anywhere when taking the impeller out of my water pump. Beside my M30 Perkins the kit is also Volvo, Kolher, Northern lights etc. Does anyone know if the rubber band gasket is for one of the other engines and not necessarily for my M30 Perkins? If it is for the Perkins where does it go I have never seen a gasket like this in an impeller kit.
