Purchase the Sailrite sewing machine!!!!  Spend slightly more and get the 
zig-zag model.  You'll be pleases as it sews through Sunbrella, vinyl and 
leather (chafe points) with ease.   Don't fight with the Sears machine which 
probably isn't designed to do what you're trying to make it do.
