We in the Northeast are having a very mild Winter so far ( I hope I just didn't
jinks it) and so I have have been working on the boat eagerly anticipating a
early Spring (hope I didn't jinks that either).  While working on the boom, I
dropped it off the work bench onto the boom vang.  On close inspection the
interior cylinder is bent.  I took the vang off the boom and rigged it to the
bench and pulled in the tackle.  The interior cylinder does slide into the
outside cylinder without too much trouble, doesn't appear to bind anywhere.  I'm
thinking there is enough slop in these cylinders to except this slight bend.
Might have a problem connecting the vang terminal back to mast come Spring
time, that is my main concern.  Am I off base in my assumptions ?

ps:  Couldn't find any name or model number on the vang.  Owners manual lists it
as NGI/OCI Boom Vang.  It has Garhauer tackle system.
