Mike,

The vang is made by Garhauer.  If it is a slight bend, don't sweat it.  It isn't like having A bend in a whisker or spin pole where compression strength is an issue.

There will be no trouble attaching it to the boom either.  

All this assumes that it still compresses and releases fine.
