My boat had the AC installed when I bought it so I cannot give you any first hand info. However when I look into the installation, it looks like it must have been a bear. I don't know how they got it in there. The unit sits just above my diesel tank in the avt starboard locker and it is really a tight fit. The duct is routed down the starboard side with vents in the aft cabin, head, salon, and v-berth. I can't even get enough access to the unit to find a serial number or ID the size. All the vents can be closed to route the air to where you are spending most of your time: not sure I ever open the one in the head. It works well but trying to cool an uninsulated boat sitting in the sun on +100 days is tough. Although it doesn't sound like much, the 10 to 15 degrees of cooling I do get on those days feel great.

does 16000 BTU sound right for gulf coast?
