Karl, it is more than easy to over charge these units, actually more likely to over charge since the units use very few oz. of coolent--no real damage, but the unit will not cool properly when overcharged.  Most marine folk are clueless. Proper gauges are a must  along with knowledge.  Ken #219

R134a is used in the Danfoss compressor on hull 690. Indicated by a blue label.

Caution.... if you plan on recharging, get someone who knows what they
are doing. I'm told that it is very easy to overcharge these units.
