[C320-list] heating

We live in the Pacific Northwest and are finding that we need heating of some kind to extend the sailing season. At the dock we use an electric heater, which gets a bit expensive and is not too practical to use when out eg. at anchor.  Central heating is one option that we've looked but now we'd like to learn about diesel heaters.  Does anyone have one?  If so, where did you put it and how is it mounted?  What about the through hull vent?
