[C320-list] Diesel Odor

Speaking of Fuel tank replacements, Catalina Direct carries 2 tanks for the C320.

The stock 19 Gallon tank and a larger 28 gallon tank for $40 more. Anyone have any experience with installing the larger one?

So, the larger tank appears to sit 4" taller with the same width and bottom profile. I think that would mean that you would remove the starboard side shelf, adjust it to fit back into a raised position making that compartment have slightly less storage.

But the weight of an extra 9 gallons of fuel should take care of the port list and give you an additional 12hrs or so of motoring time.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to install a layer of Grace Ice and Water shield to the bottom and about 4" up the sides of the tank. Also add strips of that material wherever the hold down straps will cross over the tank. I would think that would do a great job of protecting against any corrosion that would start from the outside from any stray fasteners or metal that might corrode after rolling into contact.

Ahoy......I replaced the fuel tank on my old 30 last year through Catalina direct........they do list one for the 320.....that original tank developed a pinhole leak......I could have had it repaired, didnt want to take the chance of that happening again with a 25 year old tank.
It should'nt be to difficult to replace....new tank lists for just over 500.....good luck. Joe.....245
