Scott,
I put a 5 GPM pump in the head cabinet, teed into the head sink drain. I ran pvc pipe to the anchor well through the head, under the starboard settee and v-berth. I used a stainless steel sill cock in bottom of the well. I made what I refer to as a rocket launcher to hold a coiled 30’ wash down hose and keep it from tangling with the anchor rode and installed this in the anchor well. It has worked well for about ten years now other than the leaks I get every winter in the hose from freezing because I forget to drain it every year.
Fair winds,
Chris

All: I'm thinking seriously of installing a washdown pump this year
since my back has been complaining out hauling buckets of water in order well
to get that sticky Chesapeake mud off the anchor and chain. I know some
of you have been through this. Can you give me some idea as to what kind
of pump you used (GPM and PSI ratings would be great). And did anyone
install a new thruhull for this? The projects on the site all seem to
involve teeing into the head intake thruhull but I'd prefer to avoid the
resistance of a long hose run, especially through the battery
compartment. Also, what is the best location and connector for the hose
in the anchor well?
