[C320-list] Re varnishing the sole

Dan, one approach would be to strip the sole and bleach the whole thing to
achieve a consistent coloration, then refinish. I used a 2-part wood bleach
product specifically for the purpose.

I am also interested in redoing sole so thanks for insights. In my case
previous owner spilled some bleach on the sole and I have to find a matching
stain. Do you know what stain to use? Thanks

also mention that I had an error in my email where I stated that there
wasn't anywhere where the finish wasn't worn through. I meant to say that
there was no place that was worn through. It is much easier to refinish
when the original finish is intact.

the finish wasn't worn through. I used the material that I think was
originally used and that was "TARGET WB2025 Interior Matte Waterborne
Urethane Wood Finish". I don't know whether this is still available or a
replacement made for it, but I think I have enough left from the quart to do
it again. I removed my floor and took it home over winter. I used a very
fine sand paper to slightly abrade/scuff it and then I applied the finish
with a relatively expensive brush which I think made the job come out
especially nice. The brush was maybe 3-4" wide but very thin like maybe
1/4" or less. I put two coats on it and the results were very good.

Warren Updike, contributed and may be on the web site. The sole to his boat
had considerably more wear than mine. His approach was somewhat different.

the same situation with a "well worn" sole, then let me know and I might be
able to provide the article.
