Yuck. I've come to the conclusion that refinishing hatch boards is a waste
of my time. When I get the courage, I'll get some PVC boards and replace the
wood boards. In the meantime, I've decided to refinish them with unfilled
epoxy. The first one was something (way short) of a disaster. For the next
one, I'll be sure to sand, clean, and degrease the surface completely, and
dilute the epoxy with a little acetone to make it more brushable. The
finished product will have a high gloss and will be bulletproof. I'll never
refinish another hatch board for the rest of my life (not all that much
left.)

Subject: [C320-list] sizes of companionway hatch slides

Can anyone give me the dimension(s) of the wooden companionway hatch
boards,or the dimensions of the opening? I am at a distance from my boat,
and want to make plywood substitutes so I can take the originals off the
boat to refinish over the winter.
Thanks,
