[C320-list] roller furling

Diane - On Hull #808, there was no way to either flush or lube the
lower bearings which probably is where your problem is. Schaefer
several years ago recognized the problem and was selling replacement
lower units at cost (around $100 from my memory) that had a flushing
port. You might want to follow-up with them for a relatively easier
solution. I had the same problem - it got harder and harder to furl
until the thing eventually stopped spinning at all. The replacement
lower unit worked fantastic for many years (I sold the boat last fall)
but I flushed it after almost every sail.

mine is working hard & I cannot find out where to spray silicone? or,
what needs to be cleaned out.
Currently, being a single gal owning a sailboat has it's drawbacks, but
   I
am trying to learn more about maintenance. The manual doesn't give any
   ideas.
   Can anyone help me?

It is called a "back" cutlass bearing. I will look for the part number
