Outboard Motor Hoist

After several years of hefting my motor single handed, I am
considering Outboard
Motor Hoist.

I routinely single handed launch my dingy from the bow and then mount the
motor on the dingy transom. Sometimes this is done in choppy water.

I have used the Garhauer Lifting Davit before and I like it because I can
lower / raise the motor while

Standing in my dingy.

My outboard stand is on the port stern pulpit. The ideal situation will be
lower the motor while my

dingy is on the port side of the boat parallel to the boat, Bow and stearn
facing the same direction.

I guess it would be nice if I could rig the motor hoist for only the summer
months and then

store the motor hoist my garage for the winter. It looks like the Garhauer
has 2 parts and

I would only need to keep the base tube installed for the winter.

Ideally, I don't want the motor host to bother the person sitting in the
stern pulpit seat.

Questions:

1. Have you used the Garhauer lift? What other lifts should I
consider?

2. What mounting locations should I consider? I’m looking at a 34”
boom. I also have a choice of a 26” boom.

3. Any other concerns I should have?
