[C320-list] Windlass wiring

Hatch lenses replaced. On to the next exciting adventure in boat
maintenance. I'm going to be incrementally upgrading the alternator,
batteries, etc this year. I'm going to tackle the project in small steps
beginning with the alternator, but before I get going I was hoping to have
one single, highly accurate electrical schematic of the 12 V systems on Hull
#514. I've looked at every schematic that I could find and have yet to
find a set of schematics that are 100% accurate for Hull #514. It appears
that Catalina took many 'liberties' along the way with wiring the 320 when
compared to the schematics.

The closest diagram I can find to Hull #514 is the one that came with the
boat. It is Drawing Number 320-72003-6 Revised 4-16-94, but it is not 100%
correct for Hull #514. The diagram shows a circuit breaker for the
windlass wired directly to battery 2 post on the back of the selector
switch through a 90 Amp breaker on the main electrical panel. On Hull
#514 the breaker is on the forward base of the salon settee. Initial
inspection of the wiring suggests that the forward battery is wired
directly to the breaker. Both the diagram and my initial look seem like
odd configurations. In the diagram wiring directly to 2 means that the
windlass is hard wired to the battery 2 regardless of selector position,
and battery 1 can only see the windlass when the selector is in BOTH
setting. The initial look suggests that the windlass never sees battery 1
regardless of selector setting.

Do any of these configurations sound familiar? If it has been discussed
previously I’ve forgotten or missed it. Does anyone have a good schematic
of these layouts? I’ve been through quite a few but just can't find one
that accurately reflects a layout like the one on Wonky Dog.

Regards
