The bomar hatches on Hull #514 all have the same hinges. The hinge is
screwed into the deck and sealed with caulk. The frame is screwed into
the hinge with stainless steel screws. The frame and hinge are aluminum.
This results in bi-metal corrosion and can make it extremely difficult to
remove the frame from the hinge.

I do not know if there is a replacement pin. If you attempt to drill out
the hinge pin, you will need to get the frame and hinge off the boat, you
may be able to get away with leaving the hinge attached to the frame and
bypassing the corroded screws and still be able to drill out the hinge pin.

If you need to remove the frame from the hinge I would recommend you use a
proper fitting bit, and use some valve grinding grit to give the tightest
possible grip between the bit and the screw head. Use a hammer drill and
press that bit down hard before pulling trigger. If you strip the head you
will be hard pressed to drill a stainless screw out of an aluminum hinge.

You may in the end need to replace the hinge. They are $56 over at
Catalina Direct.

Good Luck
