+1 on never having anything actually come out of the muffler drain, so I
suspect this is a step that can be skipped.

I have read that if you have the time and can find a decent automotive
supply place that still keeps documentation on all the various hoses for
various autos that it is actually possible to find pre bent hoses that will
work perfectly once trimmed to length on the 3GM30F.   I'm not sure if I’m
that frugal/patient to go this route, my confidence in being able to do
this at your local auto parts chain store is not high.   On the flip
side...the Yanmar prices are truly outrageous...then again you can always
double the cost of any item by adding the word marine to the product
description.
