[C320-list] Refrigerator Removal/Installation

Hi

Not sure why you’d need the dual power option? My new (this year) fridge draws under 4 amps when its running (obviously it doesn't run continuously) and the shore powered battery charger can put more than that back into the battery - or put it another way it is effectively supplying the fridge directly when we are on shore power.

The old fridge used to take closer to 7 amps.

BUT I do think the amount of insulation around the icebox on the C320 is very minimal. I’d love to upgrade it but cant see any non-destructive way of removing the corian worktop to get at it. I’m sure extra insulation and of course remembering to plug the drain hole would get the cycling down and hence reduce overall power usage,

Has anyone replaced their original refrigerator with one that can switch between ac shore power and dc battery automatically or manually? Also, I have heard the new replacements consume much less energy than the originals. If so, any details would be much appreciated. Neil Kornblatt, Harmony #973
