[C320-list] Wifi

I use an $80 USB WiFi booster (Netgear don’t remember the model) and a 10 meter amplified USB cable (Amazon.com: USB Extension Cable, TECHTOO 32 Feet (10 Meter) USB 3.0 Active Cable Repeater Cable Type A Male to A Female with Built-in Signal Booster Chips: Computers & Accessories)

Works great if you set it out the hatch and point to the source. The omnidirectional ones don’t seems to have the pull. The long cable allows me to raise it up but that generally not needed where I am. Its NOT waterproof so Tupperware is advised.

I also have the Bulitt system but my marina (military) needs to put a security cookie on the device that registers the MAC address and routers do not have ‘cookie storage”) THAT and if you try to connect an external network to a military one it pisses off IT security people. 😉

Good luck

Subject: [C320-list] Wifi

Hi
Due to the Covid pandemic I am hoping to be able to work from my new Catalina 320 this spring and summer
I need a reliable connection to the internet so I can remote into work.
I know I can use a cell phone as a hotspot but I am wondering about reception.
Has anybody else solved this problem another way

Thanks
Ken
