Hi Bob,
You are right, it will only disable the local outlet and any that are daisy chained to it.  The main panel should remain unaffected.

@Dave and Frank. Would a tripped GCFI outlet result in no AC current at the main cabin panel? I had thought that it only shut down the local outlet.
I'll be sure to check those tomorrow.
